“India1 ATM complaint number” and “India1 ATM head office contact number” are among the searches that bring the most people to Tekdroip. Usually the person has just had a problem at an India1 machine and does not know who is responsible, because the ATM carries no bank’s name. Here is how it works.
What a white-label ATM is
A white-label ATM (WLA) is owned and run by a company that is not a bank. The Reserve Bank of India opened this model to non-bank companies on 20 June 2012, mainly to spread ATMs into smaller towns where banks were not installing their own. An operator needs RBI authorisation and a minimum net worth of ₹100 crore. The first white-label ATM, Tata Communications’ “Indicash”, opened on 27 June 2013.
Your card works at a WLA exactly as it would at another bank’s ATM. The operator connects to a sponsor bank and to the national card networks; it never holds your account.
Who runs India1 ATMs
India1 ATMs are operated by India1 Payments Limited (earlier known as BTI Payments), headquartered in Bengaluru. Its machines are mostly placed in semi-urban and rural locations rather than inside big-city bank branches.
Who to call when something goes wrong
| Problem | Who handles it |
|---|---|
| Account debited, cash not received | Your own bank (the card issuer), as RBI rules require |
| Card retained by the machine | Your own bank: block the card and ask for a replacement |
| Machine out of service, dirty, unsafe, or a general India1 query | India1 customer service: 1800-4199-520 (24 hours) |
The reason failed withdrawals go to your bank is simple: the money was debited from your account by your bank, so only your bank can reverse it. India1 provides the transaction log to your bank when asked. The deadline your bank must meet is explained in ATM debited but no cash.
What you can and cannot do at an India1 ATM
- Can: withdraw cash, check balance, get a mini statement (where supported).
- Cannot: deposit cash. White-label operators are not allowed to accept deposits.
- Withdrawals count as “other bank” transactions for your free monthly limit.
How to spot one
India1 machines are usually standalone kiosks in a shop front or market lane rather than inside a bank branch, branded in the operator’s colours. Other white-label brands you may see in our listings include Indicash and Hitachi Money Spot.

Common questions
Is it safe to use an India1 ATM?
Yes. White-label ATMs are authorised by the RBI and use the same card networks as bank ATMs. Apply the usual safety checks you would use at any machine.
Can I use a RuPay, Visa or Mastercard debit card there?
Yes. Cards from Indian banks on these networks work at white-label ATMs, subject to your own bank’s limits.
Why is there no bank name on the machine?
That is what “white label” means: the operator runs the ATM under its own brand, and a sponsor bank handles the settlement in the background.
