More than half of the people who reach Tekdroip from Google are looking for a machine in Kerala, and most of them want a cash deposit machine, not just an ATM. That fits the state: remittances from abroad, a large co-operative banking sector and many small businesses keep cash in daily use. This page summarises what our own Kerala listings show.
The numbers at a glance
- 67 machines listed across 11 Kerala cities.
- 16 of them are listed with cash deposit facilities (CDM, “cash deposit” or “deposit” in the name).
- SBI is the single biggest bank in the list with 18 machines, followed by co-operative banks, South Indian Bank, ICICI Bank, Federal Bank and others.

What stands out
Kozhikode: plenty of CDMs, low ratings
Four of the five Kozhikode machines we list take deposits, the highest share of any city, yet the city has the lowest average rating (2.3). Low ATM ratings usually reflect machines that are often out of service or out of cash. If you deposit in Kozhikode regularly, know two machines: the SBI Railway Station ATM is the best-rated SBI option in our list, and the Federal Bank ATM cum CDM on Mavoor Road is an alternative for Federal Bank customers.
Kannur: the best-rated city
Kannur’s listed machines average 4.3, with several around Fort Road and Thavakkara, close to each other. That clustering helps: if one is down, another is a short walk away.
Malappuram: many machines, few CDMs
Malappuram has the most listings (16) but only two with deposit facilities. Plan deposits around those two, such as the SBI Malappuram Town branch machine, rather than assuming any ATM will take cash.
Co-operative bank ATMs
District co-operative banks run their own ATMs in several Kerala cities, and they rate well in our data, for example the Kollam District Cooperative Bank ATM (4.8). Their cards work like any other bank card at these machines, while withdrawals by other banks’ customers count as “other bank” transactions.
Tips specific to Kerala
- Festival days: during Onam, Vishu and Thrissur Pooram, ATMs near markets and temples run out of cash faster. Withdraw a day early.
- Remittances: if you receive money from abroad and want to put cash back into the account, use a CDM with your own card to avoid cardless fees (SBI: charges).
- Old bank names: many older SBI customers in Kerala opened accounts with State Bank of Travancore, which merged into SBI in 2017 (merged banks).
Common questions
Why does Kochi have only two listings?
Our directory is a curated selection built from public data, not a complete map of every machine. Both Kochi listings have deposit facilities. Use the map on each page and your bank’s own locator for more.
Can I suggest a Kerala machine?
Yes. Send the name, address and bank through the contact page.
